Collins Builders
Design and Build Firm
Job title: Assistant to COO / Blog writer and Media Manager
Blog
The blog content focused on industry interest. I researched what similar builders, architects, designers, and magazines were publishing. I matched current trends with SEO words for optimizing search relevance.
Social Media
Goal: To bring Collins Builders social profiles to bring consistency of aesthetic to their online presence.
Process: I addressed their YouTube page, Houzz, Pinterest, and Meta -Facebook and Instagram. The first task was to clean up old posts, categorize and think through the use and optimization of each site. For YouTube I created a new banner, deleted outdated videos, wrote descriptions for all videos and made consistent cover photos for current and future posts. Houzz and Pinterest needed lots of cleaning and photo reorganizing, so I applied a heavy sweep of both. With Facebook and Instagram pages my goal was to clean up and bring up impressions and design. Before November 2023, they had a wordy bio, a busy avatar, no story categories, and a lack of consistent aesthetic. Seeing this, I quickly changed the avatar to a clean white backed logo, crafted a clear and short bio (listing their three services), added story bubbles and scheduled posts with longterm aesthetics in mind.
Outcome: Throughout their online presence, Collins Builders’ profiles convey a consistent aesthetic and messaging of their brand.
Bi-annual Ideasbook
This project was fun to work on. I had an outline of what was wanted to be within the book: length to stay between 30-33 pages, two architectural renderings, three past clients homes, specific items to be featured within each house, a testimonial from a current client, and copy to accompany each featured house. I took these guidelines and surrounded them with sophisticated design and current trends. These current trends include smooth all caps and minimalist font, framing white borders, and simple clean spacing. I designed the layout, photoshopped photos for print (adjusting lighting, skies, imperfections, surrounding neighbors, and removing addresses). The result was a clean Ideas book representing the past years’ concepts and finished homes, fit for a coffee table.
